I’m currently reading When the Body Keeps the Score, as well as learning as much as I can about both Internal Family Systems Therapy  and The Polyvagal Theory . I’m finding so much good information and am applying a lot of it to my personal journey and self-healing.

Things are really hard in my life right now, and I’m struggling to do things a little differently this time around. In the past I’d have just crawled into bed with snacks and a remote and watched my world explode around me.  Today I’m trying to keep growing and moving instead of freezing and dissociating.

I’m really ready to start living my life instead of surviving it.

I’m going to be doing some serious exploration of my Protective Parts (managers/firefighters) as well as doing regular relaxation/connection exercises, because I’m having some trouble letting enough of my armor down to do this work with my therapist, and I think letting him in to help guide SELF to do this work will really help me.
